The ICCSF Membership helped me to reduce my taxes! Trying to sell a pleasure boat is a frustrating endeavor.

At a monthly ICCSF meeting I talked to Fred Gruen from the American Institute of Marine Studies about my problem.

After a brief inspection of my boat he came up with an immediate cash part for a deal that also gave me additional tax deduction opportunities for $140,000.00. I liked the proposal and the boat was sold.

Needless to say, without the ICCSF I am sure I'd still have to spend money on maintenance and hope to find a serious buyer.

This is just one example how membership in ICCSF can benefit, in running my own marketing business I have good reason to recommend to all my clients and friends the ICCSF as an excellent business and networking platform.

Recently a business associate and friend asked me how my affiliation with the ICCSF has affected my personal and professional life. First I thought: what a strange question. But on closer reflection, I realized that my participation in ICCSF activities has deeply enriched and in some instances really changed my life on both levels. Maybe I should begin with the impact on my personal life. I was born and raised in Germany and came to South Florida in 1981 at the age 17. Life has always been a great adventure. Ultimately I realized that there is a significant cultural difference between the American and German attitude and way of thinking. This is especially true when it comes to the concepts of integrity, commitment and doing what you said you are going to do, doing it right and on time. I do have to admit that I succumbed to the relaxed South Florida life style and the “manana” attitude. Being a participating member of the ICCSF and associating with fellow German business owners has helped me to reconnect with the important value systems of timeliness, precision, dedication, honesty, commitment and reliability that has been such a strong part of my European upbringing. Over the years I have made great friends here who live by these values and conduct business the same way. However, the most significant impact has been the superb quality of presentations that have been featured during the monthly meetings. As an example, a presentation done by Cynthia Greenwalt-Cerevalt two years ago about “quantum networking” has changed my life. It took my understanding and commitment to nurturing both personal and business relationships to a new level. Also the recent marketing presentation by Brian Gibson has really influenced my thinking and networking with members has created a multitude of new business relationships and exciting opportunities. Therefore, I am looking forward to be a contributing participant in the ICCSF, because it has enriched my life in so many subtle ways. I invite anyone to come to the monthly meetings and to become an active member of the ICCSF and consequently part of the vibrant German business community. The bigger the game, the greater the gains and you cannot win, if you do not play.
